Mount Carroll council approves payables, water project payments and several redevelopment actions

The Mount Carroll City Council met Sept. 24 at the Davis Community Center and carried a slate of routine and project-related items, including approval of 39 payables totaling $312,446.61 and a report that the city’s bank balances stood at $4,052,316.84.
Council members approved Pay Application #4 for the Phase 3 water improvement project, confirmed spending on holiday decorations, voted to proceed with additional paving of South Mill Street not to exceed $80,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund, and approved a redevelopment agreement with Driftless Meanderings, LLC. The council also adopted Ordinance No. 2024-09-01 authorizing sale of an abandoned property at 105 W. Washington Street.
Several motions passed unanimously on recorded roll-call votes. The council entered executive session at 7:57 p.m. to discuss litigation and returned at 8:23 p.m. with no action reported; it adjourned at 8:24 p.m.
