Committee members asked for the construction contract to be drafted and reviewed by council; staff said the public works committee’s role tonight was a recommendation to forward the bid award for formal council action.
Why it matters: the relocation moves water and sewer lines out of the bridge footprint to allow the 2027 bridge reconstruction to proceed. Staff said the work will be paid from utility capital funds and that budget amendments will be processed as needed when the contract reaches finance and council.
