"We sent out the scope of work to 5, traffic engineering firms. We received 1 response," said Abby Atun, Director of Planning and Community Development, adding that SRF's bid "was within budget, and it addresses all of the requirements of the scope of work." Committee members discussed adding the budget cap to the motion before voting. A committee member moved to recommend the council enter an agreement with SRF for the study in an amount not to exceed $40,000; Alder Myers seconded and the chair called the motion approved to be forwarded to council.
Why it matters: the study is intended to evaluate a road‑diet on Century Avenue as part of broader multimodal and safety planning. City council will still need to consider and approve the professional services agreement and any contract terms; the Public Works Committee's action was a recommendation, not a final contract award.
