Trappe amends administrator job description to allow most hiring; Council keeps termination power

After discussion the Council limited the change: it approved amending the job description to give the Town Administrator authority to hire all employees except for their own position and the Water/Wastewater Superintendent, while the Council would retain termination authority for all positions.
Commissioner Newnam moved to amend the job description and Commissioner Chase seconded. The Council recorded a 4–1 vote: Newnam — Y; Sullivan — Y; Schmidt — Y; Potter — N; Chase — Y. The motion passed. The change delegates routine hiring to the administrator while reserving termination decisions to the elected body.
