Council approves Lakeside sludge removal permit application; developer to cover costs

James Cook of Rauch explained that sludge at the Lakeside treatment plant must be hauled to Easton Utilities every six to eight months and that Trappe’s existing permit allows hauling from Easton to Trappe but not the reverse. Cook said the town and Trappe East are both on the discharge permit, so the submitted application names both entities and assigns developer responsibility for costs.
Commissioner Jeremy Newnam moved to approve the Lakeside sludge removal application; Commissioner Michael Sullivan seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The Council did not attach additional conditions beyond the permit language provided and recorded that the developer would be financially responsible for hauling costs.
