On Jan. 12 the Van Buren County Board approved payroll (#49933-50012), several handwritten and regular claims (including Secondary Roads items), and received semi-annual and quarterly fee reports from county departments. The Board also approved an Oath of Office for a Deputy County Medical Examiner (Brecount).
The Board granted a 12-month Class B Retail Alcohol License for Boyd Grocery, Inc., Keosauqua (motion by Supervisor House, seconded by Supervisor Meek; ayes: 3). Members reported on committee meetings (Decat, EMA, 911, SIACC). The Board discussed a scheduling conflict between the Feb. 2 budget work session and the Iowa caucuses and agreed to start the budget session at 5:00 PM that evening. The meeting adjourned at 10:59 AM.
