The Chawanakee Unified School District Board of Trustees reorganized its leadership at a special meeting on Dec. 16, 2025, electing Barbara Bigelow as board president. Elisabeth Parish nominated Bigelow for president; Jack Thornburg seconded the nomination, and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting record lists Trustees Bigelow, Hutchens, Thornburg and Parish as voting Aye; Trustee Seth Waltner was absent.
The board also elected Elisabeth Parish as vice president and Jack Thornburg as clerk. Bigelow nominated Parish for vice president; Thornburg seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Jessie Hutchens nominated Thornburg for clerk; Parish seconded, and that motion also passed without dissent. The newly elected president, Barbara Bigelow, assumed the chair for the remainder of the meeting.
