Corning Union High School District Superintendent Miguel Barriga presented the district's Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Year 3 update at the special board meeting on June 18, 2025, noting current enrollment and performance metrics. "District Overview 1050 students as of October," Barriga said while outlining demographic and programmatic components of the plan.
Barriga said the district has seen a rise in English Learner classification, sustained high graduation rates and an overall drop in chronic absenteeism, but he identified math performance and College & Career Readiness as areas "in the red." He told the board the LCAP reflects input gathered from teachers, site councils, DELAC and students and reiterated the district's vision "to graduate students and prepare them for college, career and life." The presentation summarized goals, actions/services, budget alignment and measurable outcomes for Year 3 of the LCAP.
Board members did not receive public comment on the LCAP at the meeting. The LCAP presentation was given to inform the board and stakeholders and to situate the district's budget planning for 2025–26.
