Uintah staff told the council that Weber County's transfer station will close effective July 1 and that Waste Management has been awarded the contract to operate the facility going forward.
The Chair said, "Waste management has been awarded the contract to continue and take that over," and added that staff are still reviewing contract details but do not anticipate major operational changes beyond possible Saturday hour adjustments for resident self-drop-off. The Chair said final details will be published in the city newsletter and online when confirmed.
Council did not take a formal vote on the contract at the meeting; the discussion was informational and focused on customer impacts and communications to residents.
