Principals report high attendance, student activities and preschool licensing

School leaders reported a 99.25% attendance rate at Chatom Elementary, student wins advancing to the county spelling bee, successful events at Mountain View Middle School, and licensing approval for Chatom State Preschool to serve two-year-olds.
Chatom Elementary Principal Sara Cruz told the board the school hosted a PTC Carnival, Spelling Bee (with four students advancing to the Stanislaus County Spelling Bee), Red Ribbon Week activities and Reading with Rover. Cruz said the Music & Arts program grew enough to add a morning session, and announced a Pizza with the Principal incentive; she reported Chatom’s attendance is currently 99.25%.
Mountain View Middle School Principal Lauren Lanum reported a successful Report Card Night focused on academic plans for students with GPA under 2.0, a popular Halloween Dance, and a sixth-grade trip to Foothill Horizons outdoor education. Chatom State Preschool Director Sandra Nunes reported strong parent-conference participation, upcoming Thanksgiving Lunch participation, and that the preschool has received licensure to begin serving two-year-old children.
