DPW reports multiple park, road and maintenance projects; North Main pole removal to begin

DPW updated trustees on park work, a North Main Street pole removal project scheduled to start around June 9, 2025, meetings with National Grid on paving work, and preparations for Music on Main events.
Highway and DPW staff provided an extensive operations update at the July 7 work session. Items reported included lot and routine maintenance, completion of Yoakum St. Park pending berm work, delivery of blocks for Music on Main road blocking, planned line striping, pothole repairs and vegetation clearing around signage. The North Main Street pole removal project was reported to start on or about June 9, 2025.
DPW noted coordination with National Grid on paving where new mains are being installed (Yoakum Ave., Hillside Rd. & Fairview Rd.) and requested landscaping contractors to address weed control and shrub replacements at several village properties. Staff also refurbished a pot-belly stove for the Farmingdale Train Station and are coordinating installation with LIRR.
