The Chatom Union School Board voted Nov. 13 to approve purchase and installation of three storage sheds — 10x10, 10x24 and 10x40 — to replace an older ham radio pole and provide organized storage for Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) supplies.
The motion to approve the bid was made by Anthony Avila and seconded by Rob Santos; the board recorded a unanimous vote (Ayes 5). Superintendent Cherise Olvera had earlier told trustees the district is collecting bids to better organize ELOP materials as enrollment in the program expands. The sheds will be installed after removal of the old ham radio pole.
The vote concludes the routine procurement step for the sheds; the board did not attach special conditions in the motion. Implementation will follow district procurement procedures and scheduling with site staff.
