Public works reports meters, snow-plow activity and infrastructure maintenance

Public works gave a quarterly update highlighting water-system work, street maintenance and recent fleet and equipment activity.
"We installed approximately 51 meters last year. 6 of those being new builds. I've installed 10 so far this year," Staff member Jack (Speaker 6) reported. He described PRV station servicing that had not been performed in more than a decade, new air vents installed at multiple locations, and the installation of digital radar speed signs at several sites.
Jack also summarized winter operations (about 11 inches total snowfall, approximately 6 tons of salt used, and 15 tons of sand delivered) and said the department has implemented a new recurring maintenance check for vehicles and equipment. Upcoming work includes Memorial Day and cemetery preparations and continuing efforts to conserve outdoor water use.
Council members thanked public-works staff for proactive maintenance and said the efforts increase confidence in meeting state inspection expectations.
