The Solano County Board of Education adopted its 2025–26 County School Service Fund budget Wednesday, approving the document the board must adopt before the state’s July 1 deadline.
Michelle Henson, deputy superintendent of administrative services and operations, presented the proposed budget and reviewed recent budget development work she led. “I am truly grateful for the opportunity to come before you each month for the last six months, providing you budget information and walking you through the budget development process,” Henson said.
During discussion trustees connected budget adoption to the earlier debate over the EDC membership. Trustee Sharp moved to suspend the EDC membership for a year; the board adopted a substitute motion to accept the budget as presented and to monitor the EDC membership going forward based on staff reports. The roll call on the budget recorded six votes in favor and one opposed.
What’s next: Budget adoption is effective July 1; staff will provide the promised follow-up reports on membership and program deliverables before the next budget review.
