During closed session on Oct. 14 the Chatom Union School Board approved several public-employee appointments, which it later reported in open session. The minutes record Lucia DaSilva appointed as a 1.0-hour ELOP paraeducator, Sara Azevedo as a 2.75-hour paraeducator, and April Mailloux (15 hours/week) and Abigail Sebastian (10 hours/week) as a job-share for the Art and Music Experience paraeducator position. Two ELOP paraeducator positions (1.5 hours and 2.0 hours) remain open, per the minutes.
The appointments were recorded as approved in the closed-session minutes with routine procedural motions and recorded votes. Board reporting in open session announced the hires so that personnel actions could be reflected in district records.
