Chatom board approves paraeducator and cafeteria supervisor hires, accepts two resignations

The Chatom Union School District Board of Trustees approved two personnel appointments and accepted two resignations during closed session on Aug. 12, 2025. The board appointed Lilly Lizama as a paraeducator (6.25 hours) and Becky Mendoza as Mountain View yard/cafeteria supervisor (1.75 hours). The actions were approved unanimously (Ayes 5, Noes 0, Abstentions 0).
The board also authorized the superintendent to continue hiring time-sensitive certificated and classified staff members under the direction of the Board President or a board representative to ensure positions are filled before the start of school. The board accepted resignations identified in the minutes as Employee #08-12-25-01 and Employee #08-12-25-02. Motions were made by Rob Santos and Anthony Avila and recorded with unanimous votes.
