Royce City Planning Commission staff told commissioners July 28 that the draft amendments allowing detached ADUs would be placed on the next meeting agenda as a public hearing.
During the work session, commissioners asked staff to review phrasing in the draft (particularly owner-occupancy and rental language) to ensure the provision reads as intended. A staff member said they would "double check on that" before publishing the hearing notice. No formal vote on the ordinance was taken at this meeting; the public hearing will be the next formal step in the process.
The commission’s next work meeting was noted as Sept. 8; staff and the Chair indicated there will be no meeting on Aug. 11, meaning the public hearing will be scheduled for the next available agenda.
