Staff presented a revised organizational chart that would name the HR director as deputy village manager and shift oversight of communications, finance, human resources and IT into that deputy role. The manager described one new director-level hire (marketing and events), a part‑time IT assistant, and several police staffing changes including a marine patrol position and a community affairs officer.
The board also reviewed proposed amendments to the management benefits policy for tier‑1 positions (village manager, deputy manager, department heads and other executive roles). For tier‑1 employees the policy as presented would offer 20 days of vacation in years one through four and 25 days after year five, permitted cashouts up to 80 hours per year, specified sick‑time caps, and described longevity lump-sum payments at completion of year three and beyond. Staff said the benefits were benchmarked to comparable municipalities to aid recruitment and retention.
