Commissioner Sherboni and village staff reported that Ty’s community center project is progressing on schedule: plans for the community center have been submitted to the village, school-field plans are under the school board’s review, and stormwater reviews are underway. “They have already submitted the plans to the village for the community center,” Sherboni said, adding that the developer planned to meet FPL and other stakeholders to coordinate timelines.
Construction activity has already started: fence installation to satisfy school safety requirements is underway, demolition of tennis and racquetball courts has begun, and piles for the new building are being placed. Officials said demolition related to a wastewater pump station will be coordinated with court relocation. The board was told the developer intends to complete the work and hold a ribbon cutting before the 2026 World Cup, subject to permit and review timelines.
