The sheriff's monthly report described a relatively low call volume in February with most incidents traffic-related. "104 total, 62 of those are traffic, 44 citations were issued," the sheriff reported.
He told the council the agency graduated four officers from field training in February, has 10 officers currently in field training and two in the academy scheduled to finish in early May. The sheriff said staffing levels have improved and planned to add one traffic-unit spot at the end of the month.
Council members thanked the sheriff and praised the increased presence and staffing progress. No requests for action or budgetary votes were recorded in the transcript.
