At the start of the Sept. 22 session Clerk Wallace read a series of public announcements that included the Durham Public Schools college fair on Sept. 30 (Durham Convention Center), the county's low‑income homeowner relief (LIHR) eligibility details, early voting through Oct. 4 and the Oct. 7 municipal primary date, and the open space matching grant application deadline (Nov. 12, 2025).
Commissioners used the announcements period to highlight ongoing outreach and local projects. Commissioner Jacobs encouraged residents to fill out the rail‑trail survey and noted the Stagville Memorial RFP; Commissioner Britton and others highlighted CenterFest's 50th anniversary and recent affordable housing projects including a 110‑unit development and a planned 95‑unit project on Main Street. The board encouraged staff to publish event details on the county website.
