Developer reports 'substantial progress' on Tule Springs park cleanup; council schedules 30‑day check

The council held a status check under the development agreement for the Villages at Tule Springs regarding alleged noncompliance with park maintenance requirements. Bob Groenauer, representing the master developer, told the council that the contractor BrightView was on-site doing intensive raking and debris removal and that many of the previously shown problem areas had been cleaned. "So overall, when you take a look at the park here... we believe we made substantial progress," Groenauer said.

Doug Geild, Director of Parks and Recreation, confirmed staff observations from a morning site visit and displayed photos showing removed sand, repaired backboards, groomed turf and cleaned parking areas; he said the splash pad is functioning though the restroom building remained closed pending testing. Councilmembers sought timelines and assurances that plantings and design plan specifications would be restored; staff said replacement plantings will conform to approved plans and that turf seeding should show germination in three to four weeks. The council agreed to a 30‑day status check to reassess turf germination and restroom test results and directed staff to continue coordination with the developer; the motion for a 30‑day status check passed.
