The commission agreed to make the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) a work-plan priority for 2026 and to establish an ad hoc committee to review and recommend actionable items. Commissioners suggested a shorter, distilled action plan and recommended consulting the city manager on required state elements of the EOP.
Members also discussed annual items (safety fair, July 4 and New Year's fireworks, ShakeOut earthquake drill) and tentatively held a safety fair date for late September. The ad hoc committee will coordinate with staff, the CERT team and the Rancheria's training calendar to align exercises and outreach; commissioners emphasized the need for a plan that community members and small staff can implement.
