During public comment a speaker identified as Tim said a small group had formed a BikePark Alliance to move forward with a bike park and skate‑park project in Blue Lake. Tim said the group had submitted a special‑event application and is holding a fundraiser called the 'Mad Scramble' on February 28 and asked the city for help publicizing the event.
He said the fundraiser is organized through the Redwood Coast Mountain Bike Association, that they had secured more than a dozen sponsors and that the event application had already been submitted for approval. Council and staff acknowledged the request and noted staff had seen the application.
