The commission formally introduced Kenny Short as Blue Lake’s new city manager. Short said he is "very excited to be working for the city. I grew up here. I love Blue Lake a lot," and invited commissioners to introduce themselves so he can put faces to the names on his list.
Short said he plans an open-door approach at city hall and proposed monthly written summaries of city projects — starting ahead of the Jan. 27 council meeting — to help commissions track progress without requiring a staff member at every meeting. Commissioners welcomed the idea and suggested occasional check-ins or a brief staff report when needed.
