Ingrid Kasek told the Blue Lake Economic Development Commission she wants the town’s proposed bike park opened as soon as funding and a project checklist are in place. "My name is Ingrid Kasek and I'm here to speak about the bike park. I would love to see it open," she said, adding that the Bike Park Alliance has grant writers ready to pursue funds.
Kasek said a Feb. 28 cyclocross race at the Powers Creek district will raise seed money and attention for the project and argued the park would complement an improved campground, bringing visitors who would spend locally. Commissioners responded that the bike park alliance could present a staff report or a future meeting to outline next steps, and Chair indicated the commission wants the discussion to continue while staff and the association clarify funding and timelines.
