Council appoints Seamus Kisner and reappoints Sherry Green to Arts and Heritage Commission

The Blue Lake City Council moved to fill two seats on its Arts and Heritage Commission on the evening agenda. City Manager Andrew Short told the council two applicants were before them and that Seamus Kisner was present to be interviewed.
Seamus Kisner introduced himself and outlined his communications and media background, saying, “I'm Seamus Kisner. I'm newly moved to Blue Lake in October... I currently work over at Blue Lake Rancherias, their communications specialist.” Council members asked about event experience and Kisner said he had helped organize small music events and handled logistics and media. Following the interview, Councilmember Scafani moved to appoint Kisner; Louis Lusso seconded, and the motion passed with no opposition.
Sherry Green was not present but had submitted an application. A member of the public urged her reappointment, saying, “She's a really strong member of the Arts and Heritage Commission. She's a very artistic person, on her own.” The council then moved and voted to reappoint Green. Members also discussed that the council previously reduced the commission from seven to five members but the municipal code was never updated—a discrepancy staff said it would research.
