The Eagle City Council approved a service agreement with iWORK Systems to move the city's permitting workflow online and add storage and workflow tools to streamline plan review.
Steve (building/permits staff, speaker 10) explained that "contractors no longer have to walk into the to the city hall to be able to submit their building plans for review. They can do it all online," describing the change as an efficiency improvement that shifts some workload away from permit technicians. Councilmember (speaker 5) pressed for transparency on a roughly $28,000 request and whether the funding would come from the building department; staff said the recurring license previously budgeted at about $8,000 would be expanded and the additional cost falls under IT, not the building department. The council moved and approved the agreement following explanation and a roll-call vote.
