Clerk Treasurer outlines amendment process; Fire Station 3 bid deadline extended

Clerk Treasurer Stonecipher told the council and members of the public that the budget adopted Oct. 7 is an initial adoption and will be amended after the Department of Local Government Finance issues its certified figures. "What you passed tonight is an adopt budget that will be amended," Stonecipher said, adding staff may make further reductions in spring if revenues differ from estimates.
Stonecipher also summarized year-over-year fund estimates: he said the general fund adopted that night was estimated at a 7% increase year over year, non-home-rule funds a 3% collective decrease and home-rule funds a 14% decrease. Economic Development Director Tammy Gibson announced the deadline for bids on Fire Station 3 will be extended to Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. to allow time for additional questions and for an addendum and clarifications to be posted on the town website.
Council members offered brief thanks to department heads and staff before the council moved upstairs for an executive session to continue work not addressed in open session.
