Trappe council awards weekly trash contract to Bigg Tyme Trash; residential rate rises to $189.80 annually

The Town of Trappe council on March 18 unanimously approved a contract with Bigg Tyme Trash for weekly residential trash pickup at $3.65 per week per residence, Town Administrator Erin Braband reported.
Administrator Braband told the council the single bid received set the annual cost at $189.80 per residence, an increase of $7.80 from the current $182.00 rate. The council recorded that trash day would remain on Friday under the new contract.
Commissioner Rose Potter moved to accept Bigg Tyme Trash’s bid; Commissioner Jeremy Newnam seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The council did not record any amendments or contingency conditions to the award in the meeting minutes.
The contract award was handled during a special meeting/workshop that opened at 4:00 p.m. and adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
