Council authorizes RFP for residential trash service; timeline tied to tax bill schedule

"The current contract with Bigg Tyme Trash is ending June 30, 2025 and the Town needs to put this out to bid," Administrator Erin Braband told the council. She said the Town must select and award the contract at the April 2, 2025 council meeting so the residents’ cost can be provided to the County by May 1 to be listed on the real property tax bill sent out on July 1, 2025.
Commissioner Michael Sullivan moved to issue the RFP as prepared; Commissioner Jeremy Newnam seconded and the motion was unanimously approved. The minutes identify the current vendor as Bigg Tyme Trash and set a clear procurement timeline tied to the county tax-billing schedule. The council did not record estimated household rates in the minutes; those figures will be available after bids are received and the contract award is made.
