A parent who identified herself as Savannah Poliniuk asked residents to attend a safety event at Taylor Road Middle School on Dec. 2 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to address e-bike and e-scooter safety for students. She said students often ride without helmets and on bikes not sized for them and invited community partnerships to educate parents and students.
Poliniuk said the Johns Creek Police Department, Emory Johns Creek and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta would participate in the event, which appears on the city's calendar. "We are concerned for the safety of our students," Poliniuk said, and encouraged community members to join the outreach and training session. The speaker emphasized the goal of preventing injuries through education and collaboration with local agencies.
