Council backs study into feasibility of a Johns Creek community recreation center

Council member Coughlin proposed a community recreation center feasibility study and needs assessment to identify appropriate amenities and scale for Johns Creek. "It could be it needs to be multipurposed... I don't know exactly what the residents desire and need, so this was my proposal that we evaluate that further," he said, asking staff to investigate before the council commits to a scope.
Council members generally supported staff exploring options and asked for basic information ahead of the retreat so the topic could be integrated into CIP discussions. Staff said initial work would be done in‑house and that an outside consultant would only be used later if statistically valid community polling or more detailed analysis were required.
