On second reading the Petersburg Borough Assembly approved Ordinance #2026-04 to amend the Service Area 1 Zoning Map and designate a borough-owned tideland parcel as Industrial (I-1) within the Marine Industrial Overlay subdistrict.
The Planning Commission recommended approval of the rezone in its attached report. Harbormaster Glorianne Wollen spoke in support during the public hearing. The motion to approve the second reading was made by Assembly Member Scott Newman and seconded by Assembly Member James Valentine; the roll call vote was unanimous (Mayor Bob Lynn; Vice Mayor Jeigh Stanton Gregor; Assembly Members James Valentine, Bob Martin and Scott Newman).
The minutes indicate the ordinance had previously passed its first reading; this action records unanimous approval on second reading. The minutes do not record conditions or a final effective date for the rezone; remaining readings or administrative steps may be needed to finalize the zoning change.
