Committee members praised the concepts and suggested practical adjustments: reconsidering whether to hold the city's main celebration on July 3 or July 4 (staff noted past council decisions to hold events on July 3 to avoid competition and higher fireworks costs on July 4), planning cooling stations and sensory-friendly activities for children with different needs, and assembling an event-planning committee or recurring agenda item to shepherd America 2 50 planning. Staff agreed to explore logistics, vendor incentives and partnerships and to return with more detailed proposals.
