Commissioners flag courthouse repairs and push to sequence CIP after growth policy

"I think downstairs in the basement, we've got a wall that's failing," a commissioner said during the meeting, urging the county to follow up on a past structural evaluation. Laque recommended that the county finish the growth policy, then prioritize a capital improvement program (CIP) that can be paired with CDBG/MCIP grants to fund projects.
Why it matters: Deferred maintenance and structural issues in county facilities can carry safety and cost implications. Commissioners asked to include infrastructure priorities in the growth policy so they can sequence CIP projects and seek grants once the policy is complete.
