County treasurer authorized to release pledged bank securities; board approves rehiring part‑time clerk pending background check

Laurie also reported she had identified a candidate, Kathy French, to return as a part‑time clerk; French would work variable hours (estimated roughly 55 hours per month on average) and cover motor vehicle and tax‑season peak days. Laurie said she had been checking whether state fingerprinting or background checks were required for rehiring after a three‑year absence.
A motion was made and seconded to allow Laurie to proceed with the bank paperwork, and the board approved hiring Kathy French pending any required state background checks. Commissioners asked staff to verify fingerprinting requirements and to proceed cautiously with onboarding paperwork.
"Motion made and seconded to allow Julia to proceed with this issue," the chair said before the approval vote.
