Michelle Wynveen, PhD, Calumet County Veterans Service Officer, reported to the commission that retroactive compensation and pension claims awarded to Calumet County veterans total $317,201.22 as of March 18, 2026. The figure was presented as an up-to-date accounting during the department report portion of the meeting.
Wynveen also told commissioners the office’s client satisfaction survey is in its fifth month, with an optimistic response rate; she said final statistics should be available by the end of April when March surveys are returned. Wynveen noted the commission did not discuss a new VA claims rule at the meeting and that she will circulate the Federal Register posting related to that rule before the next meeting.
