DDA funds community events, approves 'Ladies Night Out' and SLPR event grants

Separately, Tyler Carpenter, Executive Director of Southern Lakes Park & Recreation (SLPR), requested funding for five SLPR events: Farmers Market, an expanded Summer Concert Series (running May–September to align with the Farmers Market), Family Nights, ArtWalk and the Car Cruise 'Rev‑up Fenton.' Carpenter explained the request for the concert series had increased because more dates were added; the board approved the SLPR recommendations as presented.
These approvals were recorded by voice vote. The event funding aims to support downtown activation and seasonal programming; staff and board discussed gazebo and decking improvements referenced elsewhere in the packet as related infrastructure that supports these events.
