The planning and legal review did not identify substantive changes from past years; the board discussed a standard 60‑day notice provision that allows either party to terminate while giving the other time to adjust. Commissioner (mover) made the motion to approve and the board recorded an "aye" vote with no opposition.
County staff said the interlocal will remain in place if the county and city later decide to pursue a public‑safety commission; the agreement contains a 60‑day mutual notification clause so either party can wind down the arrangement if the entities choose a different governance model. The county asked the city to promptly sign and return the executed document so the agreement can be filed and posted.
