Durham County names dozens of appointees to advisory boards; a few ties deferred

The board approved multiple appointments to Durham County advisory boards and commissions during the meeting. Attorney Williamson read a roll of nominees and the board announced appointees for seats on the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission, Board of Adjustment, Citizens Advisory Committee, Criminal Justice Advisory Committee, Durham County Hospital Corporation Board of Trustees and several others.
Appointments read by the attorney included Scott Carter and Nathan Lee for the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission; Quandora Colvin, William Vatavuk and Justin Hall for the Board of Adjustment; Ebony Watts for the Citizens Advisory Committee; B. Angelo Burch Sr. for the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee; and Constanza Gomez Jones for one seat on the Durham County Hospital Corporation Board of Trustees with a tie for the second position, which the board said will be redone. The board also appointed multiple members to the Durham County Women’s Commission and announced selections for cultural and sports commissions.
Attorney Williamson congratulated those appointed and urged residents to continue applying for open seats. The board noted at least two ties where selection will be deferred to a subsequent meeting before final action is taken.
