Presley also outlined Fire Department needs: $16,000 for medical certifications, an estimated $55,000 in overtime tied to the department's new contract, and $35,000 for ladder-truck repairs. Mayor Jensen explained the generator purchase resulted from an existing generator being needed elsewhere by the Utility Department and stressed bringing unexpected department expenses to Council for transparency. Council did not take final action at the work session; the ordinance was scheduled for further readings on April 13.
