The Avon Board of Zoning and Building Appeals voted unanimously on April 1 to grant a 14-foot rear-yard setback variance for homeowner Michael Malloy at 2519 Fairfield Drive to install a roof and TV wall over an existing patio. The variance reduces the required 50-foot rear setback to 36 feet for the covered structure; the applicant said the roof would not expand the existing patio footprint.
Board members noted a neighbor had submitted a letter supporting the proposal and raised no objections. Mr. Miller moved, seconded by Mr. Bulger, to approve the variance; the motion passed with the vote recorded as "AYES" all. The application included an Exhibit 1 drawing (site/grade information) provided for the board’s review.
