Residents report speeding on shared paths near Olander Park; committee hears calls for signage and education

Karma Vince, a township resident whose property backs onto the Olander path, told the committee she and her neighbors have seen fast-moving devices and a four‑wheeled vehicle on the path and said they fear a serious injury if nothing changes.
"We see bikes speeding with, as my husband stated, older folks walking," Vince said, asking what the city could do to protect people on the path. Chair Westfall thanked the resident and confirmed the committee would take parks input into account while the chief and staff assemble materials. Later a resident asked whether pedestrians automatically have right of way on a city sidewalk; Chief Miller replied that bicycles must yield to pedestrians and give an appropriate warning when passing.
