Council OKs MOU with University of Toledo to offer 10% tuition scholarship to city employees

Ms. Smith, who described the UToledo corporate education program, said the scholarship applies to current or new students who are employed by the city, whether full-time or part-time and whether online or in-person. She said the partnership currently has 29 partners and expects to grow; in the last two years the program has awarded approximately $25,000 in scholarships to about 30 people. Smith said the program has no cost to the city and staff will notify employees by all-users email and add the benefit to new-hire onboarding materials.
