Avon Landmarks Preservation Commission approves minutes, schedules follow-up on landmark request

The Avon Landmarks Preservation Commission convened on April 8, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building. Chair Cynthia Murnyack-Czarnecki recorded members present: David Morahan, Theresa Szippl, Vice-Chair Ralph White and herself.
A motion by Ralph White, seconded by David Morahan, dispensed with the reading of the minutes of the March 11, 2026 regular meeting and approved the minutes as published; the vote was recorded as Mr. Morahan "yes," Ms. Szippl "yes," Mr. White "yes," and Ms. Murnyack-Czarnecki "yes," and the Chair declared the motion passed (vote 4 for, 0 against).
Later in the meeting the Commission agreed to submit a revised Statement of Significance to the Ohio Historical Markers Program for Avon Center Cemetery and asked Petros Development Group to provide a plot plan and to schedule a site walkthrough of 32135 Detroit Road so the Commission can review the developers' claims about the house's condition. The meeting adjourned at 7:39 p.m. following a motion by Mr. White and seconded by Ms. Szippl that carried 4-0.
