Assistance League recognized after Operation School Bell serves 85 South Whittier families

Hartl described a recent event at a Walmart in Santa Fe Springs where the league distributed vouchers to families so students could pick new school clothing.
Board members praised the league's volunteers and local partners for sustained support, with Trustee Sylvia V. Macias specifically thanking the Assistance League for donations and assistance to the South Whittier community. The board took no formal action beyond the recognition.
The recognition occurred during the awards and presentations portion of the meeting; administrators noted Operation School Bell as one of several community supports that contribute to student well-being heading into the holiday season.
