District reviews PBK facilities master plan, ties priorities to Measure K funds

The South Whittier School District Board of Trustees received a presentation from consultants at PBK on Sept. 9 outlining a proposed Facilities Master Plan that consolidates community survey input, leadership focus-group feedback and a condition assessment of district facilities. Trustees were told the study identifies sites and systems that need upgrades, modernization, and potential new projects.
The presentation flagged Bond Measure K as the principal funding source to be considered when setting project priorities. The minutes note that the master plan “will serve as a roadmap for guiding improvements across South Whittier schools.” Board President Jan Baird said the administration and trustees will evaluate project priorities in light of available Measure K funds and district educational goals. No formal action or funding allocation was taken at the meeting; the plan will be used to guide future prioritization and budgeting.
