Before voting on Item 10.1 the Board President read an oral Brown Act disclosure summarizing the terms of the proposed Eighth Amendment to the Superintendent's employment agreement. Jan Baird said the amendment "extends the term of the Superintendent's current contract by 1-year from June 30, 2027, to June 30, 2028" and advances the Superintendent to Step IX, "making his annual base salary for the 2025-2026 school year $251,907, payable in 12 equal monthly installments." The oral report also summarized continued fringe benefits: 24 days of paid vacation, the same health and welfare benefits provided to other certificated management employees, post-separation health benefits coverage, a fully paid $150,000 term life insurance policy, a $600 monthly car allowance, and payment of dues and expenses for professional meetings.
After the oral report the Board voted to approve the amendment on a motion by Francisco Santana and a second by Sylvia Macias. The vote was recorded as 5-0 in favor (Yes: Jan Baird; Francisco Santana; Dr. Natalia Barajas; Elias Alvarado; Sylvia V. Macias). The minutes state there were no additional questions or discussion from the Board prior to the vote.
