Fairview Park City Council convened a special meeting March 23 and placed three ordinances on first reading: Ordinance 26-19 (IAFF Local 1057 fire agreement), Ordinance 26-20 (OPBA police agreement), and Ordinance 26-21 (salary structure for nonunion employees). The presiding officer announced that all three measures were referred to the finance committee for further review; no adoption votes on any ordinance occurred during the special meeting.
The council president cited the Fairview Park Charter, Article 4 Section 7(b), and council rule 5 to limit the meeting to those items. "Pursuant to Fairview Park Charter article 4 section 7 b and council rule 5, no other subjects will be considered," the presiding officer said. With no other business, a motion to adjourn was made and carried on a roll-call vote recorded as 'Yes' by Lang, Minnick, Greenfield, King, Waring, Riley and Mann. The presiding officer then noted a brief pause to restart equipment and began the subsequent committee meeting.
